SAVANNAH- Nancy Buxton Jackson, 49, died Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Memorial University Medical Center.
The Yazoo City, MS native graduated with an RN degree from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Cardiology and Oncology for many years in Charleston, SC and Baton Rouge, LA before moving to Savannah in 2008. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Roy Buxton.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jon R. Jackson of Savannah; two daughters, Madison Jackson of Savannah and Rachel Gandy of Birmingham, AL; a son, Ryan Jackson of Savannah; her mother, Florence Buxton of Yazoo City, MS; and three brothers, James Buxton of Alexander City, AL, John Buxton of Savannah, and Paul Buxton of Yazoo City, MS.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
I was really sadden to hear about Nancy. She was such a fun person to be around when we were in school together. I will always remember her that way. May God Bless her family and know she's in a better place.
